Louise Lake, a part of Banff National Park is a little less than a 2-hour ride away from Calgary, Alberta. The ride there is so pleasant and so beautiful; you’ll be surrounded by mountains, pine trees, and lakes on either sides of the road.
A National Park Pass is required to enter/park in Banff National Park. Before entering, Banff, you will see signs for Park Pass Holders on the right and the Purchasing line on your left. You can purchase the pass online beforehand and use the Pass Holder drive through line. The park pass should be displayed or taped onto the left side of vehicle dashboard. Daily passes are valid until 4P.M. following the day of entry. The daily pass costs about 19CAD.
On a clear day, Lake Louise can be clear, turquoise, or a blue color with a mountainous backdrop. You can spend quite a time just walking around the lake.
