The hiking trails at Lake Louise start at the right of the lake. One of the most popular trails is Lake Agnes Teahouse trail. However, the teahouse is closed on certain months. It was closed in May when we went. But the view is still there of course, so that didn’t bother us so much. The hike is about 6.8 km roundtrip.
The trail starts at the right of Lake Louise. Approaching the end of sidewalk, you will see signs for the hike. The view going up is very well worth it.
The trail is very straightforward and does not split. The incline, though, is noticeable. The path will get icy and slippery during winter and spring. We hiked mid-May and the path was slippery. We weren’t beaten by the ice; however, many other hikers had a tough time with their walking shoes.
Nearing Lake Agnes, you will reach Mirror Lake. This is a great spot to stop for some snacks and enjoy the view. Mirror Lake was still frozen when we went in mid-May.
Lake Agnes is indeed a grand prize once you’ve reached the destination.
