The Gamcheon Culture Village is an unpretentious piece of art culture. The village itself is undeniably traditional, yet modern at the same time. The houses are built on the foothills of a mountain by the coast. The alleys and stairways of the village leading to the top of the mountain is neatly kept and decorated with murals and sculptures.
From the bus stop, you can walk up to the viewing point. There you can see a full view of the whole village.
From the viewing point, you can descend down to the base of the village. There, you can walk the alleys of the village, taking the stairways up to the other side of the hill.
Along the way, you can admire all the art the village has to offer. These artworks are made by the residents themselves. Please remember to be respectful, as this village is a residence area and you will often cross paths with a people residing there.
It takes less than 30 minutes to reach the top of the mountain. During cherry blossoms season, you’ll get to see cherry blossoms blooming colorfully, surrounding the perimeters.
How to get there:
From Toseong Station, take exit 6
Turn right at the corner and walk until you see a cancer hospital. The bus stop is at the front of the hospital. Take bus 2 or 2-2 up. The bus will stop near the top of the hill at the entrance to the village.
