We started our morning with a 5km hike around the perimeters of the Tokyo Imperial Palace. Our walk was full of selfies because beautiful day or not, selfies are mandatory. But it being the spring season, cherry blossoms were blooming everywhere, making this walk a very beautiful one. Even the streets were lined with cherry blossoms.
Tourists were everywhere, but not all of them chose to do the full circle around the palace, so I do recommend the walk, as it’s not crowded with tourists.
Only when you reach the cherry blossoms are will you be surrounded by tons of tourists. From there, you can cross the street and walk to Chidorigafuchi. But if you stay around the palace, you’ll start to see more and more cherry blossoms. Every spot slowly becomes a perfect photo spot. Once you come to the area of 3 statues in the middle of a pond, you’ll be surrounded by tourists. Look up to the sky and serenity is what you experience.
A sakura sky, right there and then, all else is forgotten. How in love I am with this view. With degrees in Psychology and a related field, I find myself relating my experiences internally, connecting them to feelings I once felt, striving to live in the moment that makes me happy. It might be the beautiful sakuras, but I’m truly grateful to be able to appreciate nature in its uplifting, cheerful moments. Whether it’s nearby or as far as the other side of the world, spring is definitely the season to admire nature’s gifts.
