After expending all our energy, we decided to head to downtown Portland for an early dinner. Street foods is always top of on our list anywhere in the world. And so we went to Alder Street & S.W. 10th Street in downtown to eat “street food.” Meter parking in the streets was abundant, as it was raining that day. Between S.W. Ninth and Tenth Street, you’ll see food cart pods lined up, from Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern to Turkish foods.
It was definitely a cultural tour. We spent a good hour walking and eating. One great point to mention was that it was raining all day, but the streets were very clean. On the downside though, there aren’t any tables or chairs to sit and eat. I saw a lot of people picking up their food instead of eating at the spot. This may be because of the rain, there may be seatings available in better weather…I’ll never get to know. The area was a great place to walk and people watch.
